‘Petranese’ explained and “How to…” tutorial – Working in FLB

This website uses US crochet terminology. Please refer to the US-UK terminology chart to translate US terminology into UK terms.

What does it mean to work in FLB?

When working a forward and a backward angled st into a 2together st below, a more cohesive look can be achieved by working in the front loop of that 2together st and the loop directly below that front loop which connects the two legs of the 2together st rather than working only in the front loop.

Example: tr_+2-2 in FLB

tr_+2-2 in FLBtreble anchored in the front loop and the loop directly below it of the st 2 ahead and 2 rounds below

In this example, a treble has already been anchored in the FL and the loop below it, so that these two loops are ‘bundled’ together. In cases where these loops have not yet been worked around, they are identified as indicated in the example above.

anchor the treble in the front loop (indicated)

and the loop directly below it (indicated)

anchor in FL AND the loop directly below it (+2-2) (indicated)

Example: tr_-2-2 in FLB
